Ukrainian National Team of Taekwondo (WTF) set off from Boryspil airport in the morning on April 25 on a route Kyiv - Munich - Pusan to Korea where WTF Taekwondo World Championship will take place in Gyeongju city on May 1-6.

THE REGISTRATION OF TEAMS FOR CUP OF UKRAINE AND UKRAINIAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

On November 25, the teams and participants of Cup of Ukraine and Ukrainian Team Championship arrived at Sport Complex “Svyatoshin”. The total 147 athletes (94 Male and 53 Female) will take part in the competitions. Among them 15 athletes are the masters of sports of international level, 57 – masters of sports, 51- candidate for master of sports and 24 athletes have 1st level grade.

Dr. Chungwon Choue was elected a third time as president of WTF

Dr. Chungwon Choue was elected a third time as president of the World Taekwondo Federation at the WTF General Assembly at the Scandic Copenhagen Hotel in Copenbhagen, Denmark on Oct. 13, 2009. Out of a total of 150 votes cast, Dr. Choue garnered 104 votes against 45 by Thailand's Nat Indrapana, with one vote invalid. Choue was first elected president of the WTF in June 2004 for the remainder of his predecessor, and then was re-elected in May 2005 for a four-year term. In the vice presidential elections, Mr. Sun-Jae Park, president of the Italian Taekwondo Federation; Gen. Ahmed Fouly, president of the African Taekwondo Union and vice president of the WTF; and Mr. Kamaladdin Heydarov, president of the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation and vice president of the WTF, were elected vice presidents of the WTF. There were five candidates for the vice presidency.
